Innovate SCG-1 boost controller install - 2 wastegates?

Hello everyone,

I'm in the process of installing my new Innovate SCG-1 boost controller. I just wanted to install it in the controll line of the upper actuator (When you look on the twins from the front of the car) but than I started wondering - do I look on the wastegate actuator (upper) and the turbo pre-control actuator (lower) or are these 2 wastegate actuators?

In the manual there is a picture how to install it on a car with one turbo:

I searched the forums and found this thread https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-gen-arch...review-192249/ but there are no pictures of the actual actuator(s) I have to use. Also I'm confused by the 2 different versions, which are really completely different.

The next question would be if I have to remove the solenoid(s) or if it is sufficiant to just block the line leading to it / them. I have no time right now to remove the UIM.

Regarding my last question I'm not sure if someone can answer it but I try anyway: I use the O2 sensor of the SCG-1 as the only O2 sensor, so there is no stock one. What should I setup in the SCG-1 for the OEM ECU to be able to get the correct inputs from the wideband O2 sensor? If I read the manual correctly, I have to connect the SCG-1 with my laptop, but what should be changed then? Someone told me it should be something like narrow band 0-1 V but is there such a setting? And is this correct for the FD?

Read these threads first and learn about the boost control system and boost controllers.

As stated, there are a ton of threads on how to install boost controllers on the twins. Do a little reading and make sure to start slow and test and work your way up. Starting full throttle with the boost controller cranked up is an easy way to get WAY too much boost!

The stock boost control solenoids can be removed whenever or just blocked off. They are fine where they are. Also, you should be able to remove them without pulling the UIM but if you have a stock ECU it will throw a code if they are unplugged.

For the O2 sensor, I'm not a fan of having wide bands act like factory O2 sensors, I think they don't react the way the ECU expects. Personally I like to put the Wideband sensor near the end of the downpipe just before the flange to the mid pipe. In the stock location some sensors can run too hot and error out.

That said, the factory O2 sensor is a 0-1v sensor. It might be worth a try.
