Innovate LC-1 Wideband - Where'd you mount the box?

I'm finally going install my wideband tomorrow and I was wondering where you guys mounted the control box. I would like to keep it in the car, but it doesn't look like the wires will reach. Has anyone had any problems mounting it outside? Where'd you mount it?

Thanks
Ryan

I ran mine through the gearshift opening. Plenty of wire to reach everywhere and haven't had any problems. I used zip ties to hold everything out of the way of the driveshaft, etc. under the car.

I mounted mine in the tunnel above the downpipe. The wires enter the passenger compartment with the ECU harnes. I was a little worried about heat, but the transmission and stock O2 wires are in the same area and those are in great shape after 10+ years. The airpump hard pipe gives a nice surface to attach the controller (box).

Mine is mounted on the firewall behind the ABS.

The wires exit the engine bay through the passenger side inner fender and enter the cabin behind the ECU. Datalogit and LC-1 reset switch as well as LC-1 cables for the laptop are all in the glovebox.

If I had only installed it *after* deciding to remove the A/C, I could have used the large hole in the firewall opened up by the recently departed evaporator lines.

Mine is inside the console where the radio used to be.

Well... the plan is to put install a car-PC and put a monitor on the console.

The sensor is mounted in a bung along the transmission tunnel. It is mounted in the Innovate Heat Sink, which is mounted with a 4x6 piece of 20 gauge copper as additional Heat Sink. I didn't want it to burn up.

There is plenty of room along the tranny, more than you might think.

The cables exit through the inner fender, and enter the cabin behind the ECU.
Snaked a bunch of other wires through there as well for current and future gauges.

I used the remaining power wiring from the newly departed Bose stereo, adding an inline fuse (5 Amps IIRC).

My stock 02 is also removed.

This allows a tuner to use the stock 02 bung, and the Innovate 02 sensor doesn't have to be removed for dyno tuning.

How long did you have it in the stock O2 location? What troubles is it giving you now? Where, or how far back would you suggest placing the WB 02 Sensor?

how long.... since the day i put the O2 sensor on.. which is like 5 months...

earlier there was some issue with the Wideband.. not too sure it was the sensor or the control box itself... i believe it was overheating... i guess it's the box..

then i wrapped it with some cloth, and finished it with 2 layer of aluminum foil.. like those barbeque wrap... the issue disappeared...

i believe both the sensor's temperature and the box's temperature is quite sensitive.

according to what i understand, the WB O2 sensor should be placed 3 ft from the exhaust port.. which is in the center of the downpipe. at 11 or 2 o clock location to prevent condenstation damaging the sensor.
