Injectors are out - they were really cruddy!
I was having a lot of trouble removing the injectors from thier housing. I just couldn't get a good hold on them to apply enough force. I had a friend with more experience help me. They were all really stuck. He brute forced it with a wrench and out they came.
Once the first one was out we saw why they were uncooperative. There was a heavy cruddy and sandy deposit surrounding the O-Rings. The filter mesh was a deep brown. The dirt must have ground in more and locked as I tried to pull the injector out. I am guessing that dirt got inside and caused them all to leak as well. I was wondering if it is normal to have so much sludge around the injectors that it would resist removal? Sorry I don't have a pictures to scare you with.
We damaged all of the plasic connetors trying to get them out - there goes trying to clean and bore the secondaries. Its too late for me but how does anyone get these things out without damage?
I am worried that there must be a lot of sludge in the gas tank if so much made it to the injectors. I think I'll try siphoning the gas and hopefully the sludge in order to clean up the tank. Stop me someone, if there is a better way.
Let this be a warning to the other newbies: All this work started with my hose job back in October! You know the old "While you are in there might as well..."

How many miles does your fuel filter have on it??? You should change it about every 15-20K miles. I just change mine about once a year.
If you havent had the car that long I'd change it, the general public never has the fuel filer changed lol

David, when I get ahold of the 'mist tool' for the injector cleaner Im going to order it. There will be plenty leftover if you want to purchase a bottle and use the tool.
