Hey Paps. Cheers again for those maps.
Hey ondabirdhouse
Currently in the car it's pretty much all stock besides the radiator, intercooler and fuel pump.
- Greddy Elbow
- Greddy FMIC
- Koyo N-Flow Radiator
- 400LPS Wall Bro Fuel Pump
- HKS SSQ BOV
- Apexi Power FC
- "removed air pump"
---------------------------
- Recently I just bought some parts little over 3 weeks ago and was sent the wrong parts.
In that parts list I got a:
- Ogura Single Plate FC 409 clutch (I asked for a Twin Plate and the conversion kit for the FD) - So I was pretty gutted in what I received. - paid around $700
- I got a T04 manifold with a 45mm external waste gate (was told it was a 60mm - gutted again). There are no actual serial numbers or a brand name on the waste gate (not new and looks fairly used "hope it still works") - only paid $150 for both manifold and waste gate.
- I bought my HKS t51r SPL turbo separately in pretty good condition (almost new and no play).
----------------------------
Currently on order:
1. HKS Twin Ignition Amplifier
2. HKS GT II Waste Gate
3. Tein Street Flex Coilovers
4. Racing Pulley Set ( Main, Alt., P/S and W/P )
5. Greddy Profec A Boost Controller.
6. Rotary Works CNC Aftermarket Throttle Body
7. Exedy D-Core Twin Plate Carbon Clutch
8. Custom Fuel Rail Kit (South Coast Rotaries - Australia) - Already have this.
9. 4 x 2000cc Injectors (South Coast Rotaries - Australia) - Already have this.
10. Apex Seal Kit (South Coast Rotaries - Australia) - Already have this.
11. Pine Apple Racing Bridge Port Templates (Still contemplating on bridge or a aggressive street).
12. TO4 Flange Adaptor for the T51R
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Now I'm still not sure whether I should waste the money in getting another clutch and waste gate and just stick with what I already have (The car is getting done in the Philippines - labor is very cheap here and they are quite crafty with their hands. I was told to not worry about buying the conversion kit for the clutch as they can do all that).
I was originally trying to push for the bigger HP numbers but think I'll just suffice at around 500 HP. I could probably even get smaller primary injectors.
What do you guys think regarding the clutch ?
One thing I'll mention with my motor currently has FC transmission - "not exactly sure why" - I actually didn't know this until I brought in my car to the mechanics, however luckily he worked on the car before with the old owners and knew the history of the car - Mechanic will be converting to FD transmission when parts are installed.
And also this setup is being fitted to a Veilside Fortune Kit
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry for the blabble. Just thought I'd give a full comprehensive view of the car.
Anything else you think I should be adding ?
Cheers

It all sounds good.
Except be sure to test fit the turbo with that t04 manifold. I can tell you from experience that there is very little room with such a larger turbo.
that clutch will be more than enough.
If you're staying around 500hp I would go smaller on the primary injectors. just to save money.
I see you're going with a greddy profec A boost controller, what ECU will you be using? FYI a lot of Aftermarket ECU's can control boost for you and do a much better job than a boost controller.

ECU: I'm using the apexi power FC.
Regarding your manifold, did u get yours customised or bought one to fit?
I'm little concern about the single plate clutch as most only handle around 400 hp.

thats just a quick photo I found online of what the kit comes with. I picked up mine used.
What single plate are you talking about? your last post said you have a exedy twin carbon on order.
I have an ACT Extreme its rated to...I think 512hp.

The single that I have is the Ogura Racing Clutch (Metal Series) - ORC-409D-01Z.
Rates to around 423 torque.
Just from looking at the manifold you got in the picture. Yours is pretty tiny. I thought mine was small.
So even with that manifold of yours - It's a pretty snug fit ?

yeah its a really snug fit with the hks mani. thats why I would mock-up your turbo with that manifold first to see how it fits and what needs to be done to give you an idea of what needs to be done.

I used an act 6 puck sprung w extreme pressure plate and it only lasted me one year. I track my car pretty often and really beat the crap out of it, I would go twin if I were you. Also if the FD has a FC transmission odds are it has a push type pressure plate.... When u switch back to the FD tranny you will need a pull type pressure plate. I guess what I'm trying to say is you might as well purchase the right clutch now.

There's about 3mm left of clutch disc on the Ogura. Not sure how thick they normally are brand new.
With your 6 puck - what was the main issue with it ? Kept slipping ? easily worn down ?

Last time I took it to the track it totally fell apart and the car did not drive. I wore down the pads so bad that it would not engage. Again....i really abused that clutch. I only have about 700 miles on the twin disk so I can't really speak from experience but the clutch was recommended to me by Banzai racing...they use it on their 20B and have been successfully using it for some time.

ok.
I've got another question regarding injectors. Would i be better off running 4 x ID 1000cc injectors - 500 - 600 HP ?
What is a reasonable HP goal on pump gas ?

i think your power goals are a bit unrealistic on pump gas alone. pump gas will limit you to 18psi (assuming its 93 octane). @ 18psi with all the supporting mods, you will be probably net mid to high 400's. also, you are really doing an injustice to that turbo. it is nowhere in its efficiency range at 18psi. if you cannot get race gas, i would suggest water/alcohol injection and turn up the boost.
