Injector covers

Is it ok to run injectors without the hard to find rubber bottoms? I attached an image to show what I'm talking about. The companies I've sent my injectors off to to get cleaned in the past always tell me they can't replace this piece, and they always put a black rubber tubing around the base of the injector.

I was wondering if it is safe to run the injectors that way instead of trying to find another rubber piece to place at the bottom of the injector (since I was told they are impossible to find and you can't buy them, you have to remove them off of another injector)

I know I could take them off my 850's and swap them onto these new injectors, but I wanted to use the 850's in my primary position.

Talk to Witchhunter Performance - they're a great source for injector cleaning, and might be able to either hook you up with that part or give you better info.

I see two rubber o-rings and a plastic/metal injector. No other rubber. What you circled looks like the plastic section at the lower fuel screens. If that's broken you definitely should consider new(er) injectors.

There is a very soft black rubber ring that fits between the injector bore and the injector, but it's not part of the injector. Those are called injector grommets and they're very easy to get from Mazda.

I'm talking about the plastic piece I circled that goes between the injector gromet and the top of the injector where the metal starts.

Mine are missing that part, and I have another set of bad 1300cc injectors and only one of them had it on. The others have black caps over the metal, that's what witchhunter sent them back with on the ones that didn't have that piece I'm describing.

I guess I'm just going to have to recycle the ones off my 850's and when i go to put the injectors in the primary position I'll have to track a new one down.
