information on starter

On my Starter from automatic 93 fd I notice a Mitsubishi signs all over the starter and solenoid. Any one know if Mitsubishi makes these starters? and if so what model vehicles they used them in?. or what other Mazda's they used these starters.

All i'm really looking for is starter solenoid, trying to find a used one somewhere?

you gotta rememebr that some companies are bigger and can make certain parts alot cheaper. I.E. mitsubishi is so huge with tv's. refridgerators, radios. cars, tractors. etc etc etc. and they are an eletrical company. so instead of mazda designing and getting the machinery for a starter... they use a mitsupart and make it fit. if you look at alot of mazdas, they use alot of mitsu solenoids. rats nest is all mitsu, you can see the emblem. mazda probably sells the solenoid alone iirc. i can check in a bit here at work if they do. but i probably wouldn't get a used one. try going to a starter and alternator rebuild shop. they probably can cross reference one for you!

i looked online once before for solenoid alone it's about $100. i don't think i should pay that much for one. it took me 10 minuets to get old one off the vehicle.

tnx for checking the price for me Nat!
