its really not that hard, bleed the compressor make sure not to be standing by this very toxic fumes. then unbolt from the bracket and start removing all hard lines, if you plan on selling it be very careful they bend with ease.

Not only are the gas toxic but it will freeze very fast if you get in contact with it. I would just take it some where and get it evaporated.

I dont thing there is anything in the compressor because for the past two years I have not had any cold air come out at all.

yes its basic, but as stated above take it to a shop to have it drained. from my understanding R-112 is illegal to release into the air, ive also heard its a federal offense

no idea, depending on the area and what laws they have to follow, seeing that your in cali some places might not even touch it due to the possible fines they may get slapped with.

If there is no charge in the AC system the instructions would be "unbolt it all".

OH Dude, just take it off...

If you were worried about it, and it sounds like your not, just crack the lines, if notnin comes out, your good. Remove the Comp/dry/cond/all lines, and if you really want to get serious, remove wiring (correctly, if not, just di-electric grease/shrink/& tie).lol.

Go ahead and dust the power steering too, dont need it and the feedback through the steering column is nice.

It is so nice w/o the compressor and the condensor, geeze.

Take out the ABS, the, ...ahh I'll quit, but your speakin my language.

Good luck

For a street driven car, I think taking either out is stupid. Nothing like wrestling the steering wheel in the summer heat with no A/C. My first FD came that way and I put them both back in.
It really takes any class the car has right out of it and you look silly. Maybe I'm getting old, maybe I hate seeing these cars turn to **** over the years.

Looking at classifieds over the years, there is a very strong correlation between no AC and a **** FD. Removing AC from a street car is a silly fetish - and will make the car much harder to sell in future.

If I ever decide to sale the car then I'll just put it back in. I wont die without the a/c. All my past cars never had a/c that worked and here in Fresno we see 100+ degrees easy in the summer. I try not to take the fd out when it's that hot out anyways.
