Importing FD with compliant years w/ US?

Importing FD with compliant years w/ US?
I have a relative that resides in Japan and was curious about maybe purchasing an FD when I travel there. Would it be possible to import it for a decent price if it is within 91-95. Would an FD not be allowed if it is a 91 because it was different body style here?
