Importing a FD

I am currently living in Japan and am trying to bring in back to the states. I love the car and the idea of me having to get ride of it is killing me. I have spent a lot of money and don't really want to start over. Can anyone give me some info on importing?

Thanks

It will take a lot to import if you are trying to make it street legal. There are a lot of emissions and safety regulations that will have to be taken into considerations. Try doing a search...there is more info on this subject already

search on google for importing. The governments site is very informative. Once you see what your dealing with it seems more feasible. You will have to find a person with a license to complete part of the paper work. When i was researching it i think you have to pay 2% of the cars value as a importing tax. All returning citizens do get $400 allowed toward importation duties and that can be applied toward your 2%. Anyway, read up, it's not impossible.
