Boost creep is beyond the realm of control for any electronic gizmos. It happens when the wastegate is too small to flow enough exhaust to keep the boost down. The wastegate will be fully open when you get the creep, so changing the electronics that control it is not going to solve anything. You can get the wastegate enlarged, run some exhaust restriction (a plate with a hole, for instance), or run lower boost. Some combination of these items seems to solve the problem.

The stock main cat weighs 30 lbs and a midpipe weighs about 8. The N-Tech high flow cat weighs about 12 lbs and can be used with or without an air pump, if you are looking for a good cat replacement option. I weighed the cats myself, and the midpipe weight is based on reports and my own guess.

Wow, I've never seen so many people who didn't mind the extra noise. Most of the people I talk to had major issues with the noise from a midpipe. I added an XR-1 to my midpipe and I'd still rather it be quieter.

I have a question/comment for ya. I have spoke with Pettit and they say there really is no need for a new ecu. IF (i emphasize IF) you have a boost controller and keep the boost levels to the std. 10-8-10 pattern. So with that said is this right I personnaly question that statement, BUT Pettit does GREAT work and I have never had a problem with them. Also, I have DP, gauges, ast, intake, brake upgrade, injectors, etc... many other "reliablity" mods THINKING of getting MP and going non-seqential . What should I do about the MP I want it, but should I buy ECU 1st or not? What about the non-sequential? THANKS

See www.wvinter.net/~flanham/wlanham , you can do about all the mods you want and if you keep stock based turbos and stay at or below 10 psi, you should have plenty of fuel (assuming nothing is wrong with your fuel system). I've personally tested this with my wideband on several cars.

the car I am getting has the pettit unlimited boost ecu
I know that allows you to boost up to 14.7 and bumps timing but I dont think that with stock fuel injectors etc it is safe to go above 12 psi
what does the pettit ecu that I have do? and could I get a midpipe with it if I got a manual boost controller and kept the boost to 10psi? Would I still feel the power gains? I have a nteck intake, bonez downpipe, apexi n1 dual catback and pettit ast along with the pettit unlimited boost ecu.
what should i do?
Is the pfc the best ecu out there and do people sell used ones ocasionally and for how much?

midpipe was defiantly a big difference but I think the hose job was more noticable since my secondary turbo now works

So going Non-sequential or will resolve all boost creep? Would single turbo cure it also?

Enthu,

No, boost creep would be the same on a given car whether sequential or the "wired" non-sequential. On a properly functioning car that has boost creep from a free flowing exhaust/intake, the only way to reduce it is to add a restriction back into the system or enlarge the wastegate.
