Im buying tomorrow!

Im going to buy my RX-7 tomorrow. Its a 1993 with 96000 on it but the motor is rebuilt with 18000. It was originally from Florida but its been in NC for almost 2 years now. Its silver, black leather, sunroof, Bose system, and power everything. Its has the hair line cracks on front bumber but no chips. Some girl backed into it he said. Its got a turbo timer and short shifter right now. I think it has an exhaust leak unless a rotary sounds like that...which it doesnt. Its a very nice car i think. Im paying 10,000 for it. Ok guys, pray for me haha. I hope its a good car. Ill post some pics when I get the chance. Im excited haha.

Welcome to the club. I have been here for 2 years now and although there have been some ups and downs I never regreted it.

From my experience: Learn as much as you can on the car, always seek expert advice on everything you are going to do on her especialy the rotary and when it is needed do not care to buy the best parts.

It took me 1 and a half years to bring my baby back to fully operational standards and even a bit more but I am so happy with her now. (Crossed fingeres) She is working fine.

We ant to see photos though.

Welcome to the club man. One thing you should know is that this car is more tempermental than anything youhave ever seen. But as long as you do reliability mods which arent to expensive and keep up the maintenance you be able to drive the car for a while. Its better to run good than look good. Hope you learn as much as possible cause this aint no piston p.o.s

look I'm all for modding the FD, but is your car stock? 96K miles and NO PROBLEMS! Hum...take care of it and it will take care of you. If youy want to mod it then look to spend some Cheddar I would leave it stock and enjoy it.

Welcome to the club, be sure read the newbie faq's and search until your blue in the face before posting any question that has a remote chance of being previously asked. And post some pics when you get it.

The FORCE is strong with this one. Listen to him. Stock FD's are actually very reliable.

Don't do too many mods all at once. I believe this is very important. Do them in stages and make sure that the car takes well to each mod before throwing on every performance mod all at once like it's gonna be appearing in The Fast and the Furious 4 next week or something.

Congrats, Welcome and Good Luck!

Thumbs up

Just follow my postings on the last thread you had and you will be fine!

The car is actually very reliable if kept stock with the reliability mods in place.

I just cruised to the mountains today on a 10 hour trip nonstop driving from Greensboro to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I cruised the whole parkway from virginia to the bottom of NC and came back home! She did very well. Although she did get alittle heat soaked. Other than that she was beautiful and always cranked on a dime.

Good Luck! Oh and BTW right now she has been my daily driver for 7 months....( go figure the number "7").... since last september and has never failed on me once! Some people would call me crazy for having an FD as my daily. You want to know the secret to it? They don't know didly squat about how to keep it reliable or what they are doing IMHO!

Good Luck and enjoy! Expect to down a full tank of gas the first day due to you not being able to stop driving and keeping your foot out of boost.
