Ignition Upgrade options

* First and MOST IMPORTANTLY, I searched but didnt find or atleast come about any threads containing the information i was looking for.

I understand that the Mazda Ignition system is pretty well designed from my understanding, although i have seen some of the guys around here running modified systems.

I have noticed that the twin power ignition systems seems to be pretty popular. Although i wanted to get people's input on a SOLID modified ignition system. Builds, Recommendations, opinions, etc.

Thanks!

Afaik, the main "weakness" in the FD coils, isnt the coils themselves, its the placing of em, right smack dab in the middle of the oven.

Relocate the coils to the driversside frame or the torpedo wall, and go with a HKS twin power. Cheap, simple and good. ppl have run over 500whp on this for years without problems.
If you want to take it one step further, get FC coils, they are one step up from the FD unit.
If you want to take it up even further, for ex. HKS Twin power + MSD coils or LS2 coils. Even more expencive, swap HKS TP with some jacobs, MSD-units or so...

But seriously, relocated and fully working FD coils + relocation + HKS twin power, and offc. the right plugs, should be enough for most users. The worst that could happen is sparkplug blowout. If this happens, try a set of uprated coils
