Ignition switch going bad?

So the last few weeks when I would shut the car off, my gauge cluster would still be partially lit at the key was off and out, dimming to dark in about a second or so.

Just yesterday, getting ready to pull the motor, we shut the key off and car almost stayed running and the cluster and buzzer were still going.

Are these typical signs of the switch going bad? Tough to diagnose now as the car is completely torn apart now. But I would like to get some leads so I can fix this when the motor comes back.

Thanks

Yup, I found those threads and that's what I plan to order. Most of the symptoms described in those threads were about starting the car. Mine seemed to be the opposite, it wouldn't shut off the system and electronics. I figure it has to be related.

Just wanted to write an update to this. Got my engine back in over the weekend. Hooked up the battery and some of the dash indicators were on and we heard relays coming on under the hood. No key in the ignition. Change the ignition switch, same thing. Fired the car and we couldn't turn it off, had to pull the negative terminal.

Anyway, I figured it had to be a relay and was praying it wasn't a chaffed wire in the body harness or something. I got it right on the first guess. I swapped out the EGI relay from the other FD that was available, problem solved. I also noticed that one of the relays near the fans, for the HVAC is the same one, yellow, marked JE16.
