Ignition Problem?
The other evening I was driving at ~60mph.
All of a sudden I heard some loud popping coming from underneath the car. If I pressed the throttle, I got more popping and my boost gague bounced back and forth beween vac and slight boost. The car died. Now it turns over when I try to start it, sounding like power is ok and the starter is ok. But is like it will not fire.
When I tried to start it the next morning, same thing, but it popped from the exhaust, maybe indicating unburned fuel. However, now it will not do that. Is there an easy way to tell if this is fuel (pump) issue or an ignition issue?
What is the easiest way to tell and thing to look for?
Thanks

You might want to take a look under the car at your exhaust first. If you are hearing the pops under the car, thats where I would start. I would pay close attention to the exhaust manafold and turbo housings.
Go from there.....
Just my 2 cents.

Someone told me that got gas from the same place I did the other day, and that they had a problem starting their car, where it seemed to turn over, but would not fire. Could this be the case (bad gas/water) and if so how should I deal with it?
Just a thought..could this be a compression issue?
I hope I did not blow something.
Note> This is Baton Rouge, and most places have reformulated gas.....
