apexi intake + hard pipe question

Does anyone know of any japanese companies that sell hard intake pipes that work with the apexi filters.

I want to run it with either a fmic or a v-mount - so I'm after a short section of pipe - not a long one

The Apexi filters dont even work with the stock accordian rubber pipes once you add a FMIC. I had to cut the rubber pipes up, buy a Home Depot PVC u-bend, and still cram the Apexi filters in. It would have been impossible if I still had the air pump in the engine bay.

I abandoned the Apexi filters and went with the HKS mushrooms (Greddy/Trust/Airinx are similar) and still had to cut the new hardpipes I bought.

With the big aluminum elbows that the Apexi have to have to be attached, they simply do not fit with anything other than SMIC.

okay, to open up the question a little more...

is there a viable option for cone filter + fmic/v-mount?

Anyone using the border racing kit?

FWIW, I buy into the concept of foam filter + FD heat = bad

My apexi intakes worked with my stock pipes and the hard pipes... after the fmic install i had to trim the aluminum pipe a little, but i worked.

Wrong...

Here's two with FMIC and one with Monster V-mount, although I don't think the V mount looks very effective.
