Ignition amplifiers, whats the difference?

Im looking at buying one and their are many on the market, I hate to throw money at a name brand for somethign like this so i was hoping to get some insight.

whats the difference between
http://amos.shop.com/amos/cc/pcd/574...7620/ccsyn/260
something you can find for 60$

vs.

hks twin power,
http://www.rx7store.net/index.asp?Pa...ROD&ProdID=397

or the

xs power pack
http://www.rx7store.net/index.asp?Pa...ROD&ProdID=849

I realize the twin power produces spark to both leading and trailing, but wasent it shown that running without trailing plugs didnt make a difference as far as power?

It looks to me like they all do the same thing, but the ones that cost 200$ more have numbers to back up their talk unlike the 60$ one which just says "offers a 50% increase in power"

has anyone actually tried the Nology powercore? not much turned up when i searched.

The HKS is plug and play, does both leading and trailing and won't burn out your coils. I don't put much faith in anything from Nology. Isn't the XS just a rebranded B&M?
There's also the AEM which was supposed to be the best but had a lot of problems.

I recently had this conversation with my mechanic (scott at mazsport) and he reccomended the "Jacob’s rotary FC1000 " (rx7.com), as it actually boosts the spark power, as the HKS just does a "waste spark" type thing, and make the plugs fire rapidly a few times afterwards, not actually increasing power.

I heard that ignition almplification is important when you are boosting over like 15 lbs. of boost.... if you are running stock levels I heard that you don't even need one. My 2 cents...

the stock ignition works great up to approx 400 rwhp. if you are making less than 400 spend your money on something else.

Unless you have pre-tuned ECU that runs too rich. Then you need an amp also. HKS TP was reported to help immensly on M2Stage3 ECUs that run very rich up top.
