So I have the IGN-1A coils and had to replace one that burned out and took the connector with it. Checking pins D and E for continuity, my understanding is open is good and a little continuity is bad. I have tested all four just to make sure. One shows no continuity but the other three all show several thousand ohms of resistance. Is this still bad? I get spark on them, but does the continuity, even with several thousand ohms of resistance, mean the coils are degraded or going bad?
Went ahead and tested 3 different sets for your data. The 2 sakebomb kits we know for sure work and are fine. The aem kit we've never used but assume it's fine as well as they were sold to us as such. Aem coils 3 and 4 are NOT in K-ohms.
So no direct answer to your question but maybe this will help... or at least make the situation worse lol
Wow! As you said, not a definitive answer, but thank you for the amazing reply. Really appreciated. If anyone knows of a certain way to test the coils that would still be great to find out.
