Really...I never look for those thing to keep my car smell like new...obviously you do.

The good thing is the car isn't for sale...it has been in the family since 1994 and plan to keep it that way.

Well obviously you didn't buy it at street value. If you bought it for $10k it's a steal.

I personally would be out around $6k.

You paid $10k for that? Nice deal.

I paid $16.4k for a minty 1993 R1 with 44k miles in 2004. Could probably get around that for it now (with 48k miles) - but I have sunk about $1k in maintenance and another $4k in modifications into it, of which I would only get $2k or so back if I sold separately. And there is always the risk of a $3k+ engine rebuild.

FD depreciation is extremely good in relation to almost any vehicle. The urban warrior that paid $30k for his Ford Explorer in 2004 would be lucky to get even $20k now. Another two or three years and $10k will be about right.

No one would ever buy a 79 cuda convertable cus they didnt exist. Now, a 71 cuda vert with a hemi would fetch you some bank tho

Well kept stock FDs command the best prices in my experience. They sell more quickly too.

You don't think mods increase the market value of a vehicle I hope?

Personally I'd never sell my car so it really doesn't matter. However as with the Supra I think the next installment of F&F3 will make our cars much more valuable as they wanna use the FD as the main car in that movie. There really just needs to be a great demand for our cars values to go up as with the old muscle cars everyone wants one but you just can't find them anywhere to buy so those who have the cash will offer some outrageous amount of cash to someone who owns one just to get it. Just how it works.

Actually little less...it was a handdown from younger brother...he think the 7 would be useless in Maine.

They would if you had the right seller wouldn't you think? As long as I was confident in the work done to install the mods I would pay for for an FD. Particularly one that was tuned by someone good.

If the engine blow...I might break even. If anything else blow...sure will losing money. But then everything cost money nowaday.

I sunk lots of money into the Mustang Cobra...completely over done it just to brag about. Not going down same path for the RX7.

Made money on my first one (owed 6 grand at the time sold it for $14k) and could sell my current for what I bought it for or maybe a grand more. Almost sold it last Fall but couldn't bring myself to do it, guy was ready to give me $17k, bought it 5 years ago for $16,500. Considering it's paid off that is great! Although I have lost money on cars as well so I guess it all works out in the end....

If you sell it, does it come with the old t-shirt that is stretched over the driver seat?

I bought my FD at about kbb value, so I'm out in the amount of my mods which would come out to well over $5k.
