If only I could read Japanese...

... then I could figure out what the diameter of the piping is for the Amemiya ti dolphin tail exhaust. Anyone know?

Have never seen a Dolphin Tail Titanium on any car. I do not feel this exhaust is worth 1,600$ plus shipping. But that is me. Can you say Greddy Ti @ 600$?

so 80mm (and that translates to 3.5", no?) then? thanks dai.

I've always felt that the fd is a car that deserves the best. If it takes top dollar to pay for some of the elite parts, then so be it. I'm also hard core on the lesser used JDM parts here in Amer. Nothing erks me more than seeing less than worthy parts on fd's.

As far as expensive a$$ exhausts, I used to want the HKS ti (for what, $1,200 - I think), but I'm really starting to sway away from the ginormous n1 style mufflers. They are just way too played out for my taste.

+1 You might be able to find one for even cheaper than that. Lightweight, sounds great (according to a bunch of compliments I've recieved), and it flows well also.

You know you coulda saved alot of time I said 3.5 at the begining. Btw there is two versions.

There is also a race version that is 100mm, they use it on the white time attack machine and they use the 80mm on the drift machine, the green series including Amemiya's personal car.

But still consider the fact you can buy the Greddy Ti, and a PFC for the price of the Amemiya. Good luck.

I'm sure there is a community college nearby that will teach you how to read and write Japanese. And as much of a smart-*** as I may sound with this comment, a friend of mine took a class on Japanese just so he could read Japanese comic books.

this one is a replica of the 'time attack' blue FD's muff. It's stainless, and only 80? (price is about 60,000 yen)

this is also a replica of the 'time attack' muff - but in titanium (so price goes up to 155,400 yen). 5.8kg, 80?

there are other systems in their catalog (http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/commodit...6&pid=813e1d4c), but these are the only 'dolphin tail' versions.

Incidentally, the design is intended to stop discoloration of the bumper.

forgot the twin:

stainless, 80?

(those should be 'phi' symbols - they may be coming up as '?' though...)

wow, thanks for all the info dai. i was actually dinkin around the site, but of course, nothing quite makes sense. i deff prefer the race replica the best.

quicksilver: no offence taken. i have a few japanese friends that try to teach me a lil here and there. my sister actually bought me one of those "learn on your own" programs. its hard as hell to try and pick it up that way. taking a class is deffinately on my priority list, sometime down the road. my only issue is that being very hard of hearing makes it truly difficult for me to pick up verbal languages (thats why my major is amer. sign lang.).

dradon: i appreciate the input, but sometimes one must stray away from the beaten path for true personal satisfaction. money to me, is really not a huge factor when it comes to this car. i want the best, even if it costs a few cents more (just means i'll be starving myself for some extra change and the project will prolong itself a bit.). In the end, its all worth it for me.
