This is my pilot video. Its about using an FC-Datalogit and LM-1 AFR Meter in a 3rd gen RX-7. If it seems useful, let me know. If its retarded, im sure you all will have no problem flaming me :-D
Couple warnings:
1) I did it without a script
2) My other youtube videos are really dumb, just to play with my camera

I based it off the article:
http://raceandreplace.com/1993/mazda...th+the+powerfc
That site is still in beta, and wont be ready for another couple weeks.
Flame away! lol

^^I agree, if you're gonna make a video, make a video of the basics first.
Like for people who just installed a PFC or something lol
And like go through the settings on the PFC commander. Some people dont even know how to check TPS voltages etc etc lol
Btw, cool video.

My brutally honest opinion - Neither your video nor the article has enough substantive content to be all that useful. Too high level.
Good try though.

lol yea, i took a quick video of what I am working on at the moment. I had a lot of issues with getting my WBo2 working with my datalogit, had to do it anyways and wanted to test my camera skills.
Great feedback :-) alot of people have requested the basics. I'll deliver on that.
Spoolage, i sell lockets of my hair on ebay hahaha... wait none of them have sold :-(

I think it's a good start.
As for clarifying on the actual programming between Logworks and FC-Edit.. perhaps try cutting in a clip of actually opening up the software programs, and clicking/changing the values. That would really make getting the job done "idiot proof" since people would be able to actually follow along as you move the cursor and select values, etc.
TBH I'm not sure how many people are still running the LM-1, I know that I picked up an LC-1 last year and it was the only thing available at the time. I'm pretty sure the shop that did my install fucked it up too, since I'll read 10.3 at WOT (should be closer to 10.8-11ish) and 7.6 when I take my foot off the gas (0.0% IDC).. I need to get in and re-wire mine =(

It would be awesome if he put out a "Intro to tuning: for dummies" type thing.

The only problem I found with Chucks notes is that they assume the recipient already has a solid grasp of how to tune, they seemed to jump directly into advanced subjects and theory (it's been about a year since I read them, so please forgive me).

I would also agree that the video is a good start. I have thought about doing this same thing you are doing just because I am also a very visual learner and so are lots of people. Since you have already started on this kind of projects here is my advice: Definitely get some screen shots of the computer screens with detailed instruction of what you are doing and why; get a better MIC for your camera, sound quality is important for clarity while instructing; make sure you do your homework before shooting and then proof it MANY times for any possible mistakes (also have another educated person on the subject matter review it), the last thing you want to do is put out more bad information on the internet; write ALL scripts for an idiot that has never even heard or seen what you are talking about, this will help and keep you from answering too many questions later; also put disclaimers on it plainly so that some nutjob does not come and try and blame you for his/her motor blowing when they did "exactly" what you told them to do.
Again, great start! I do think this is something that could be very helpful for many people down the line. Who knows, maybe I will find some free time and do a few myself. GOOD LUCK!!!

Great start. I will watch anymore you make.
Do you really need the LM-1 Meter to tune? I have the PFC, Dataloger, and innovative LC-1 wideband with gauge. In your video and notes, it mentions calibration, but what else do you need it for?
If I have to buy any more piggy back rigs for my PFC I am going to regret choosing it over other ECUs.
