I just thought I would come here and let you all know that there is a slight problem. You have a mental midget, that is on one of the local stangnet forums making a fool of himself and giving repsectable RX7 owners a bad name. So far he has made several links to your site and even explained something about the owner of this site banning him for a reason I'll choose not to discuss out of respect for the owner. Anyways, his user name on stangnet is 94T-Rex, he claims to own a 94 model TT RX7 and live in the California area.

 

what did he do/say?

 

Every forum has people like that. He may not even have an rx7 but his actions as a troll shouldn't reflect on us.

 

talk to the mods and ask for his IP over there.

From what I read, I do not see why you're upset at him. It looks like the Stang guys are under estimating the RX7.

How is an 8 year old car fair to a brand new one, race new vs new and you will have a whole different outcome. And don't call the 3rd gen RX7 RICE!

 

Sorry it took me so long to reply. I agree that some of the stang owners are making a$$es out of themselves as well. I have tried to put them in their place too. Yes many of them are underestimating the RX7, on the same page though 94T-Rex is doing the same to the Mustang. I have much respect for all fast cars and their owners, and I believe that there is a destinct difference in an Import owner and a "Ricer". In this case, a "Ricer" is giving your beloved cars a very bad representation. I know that I would want to be notified if someone was mis-representing the mustang in such a fashion. I apologize to any that I have offended. I don't think of the 3rd gen RX7 as Rice, it is a respectable car, I do however think of 94T-Rex as rice. For him to say that "No Mustang will ever compare to an RX7" is as bad as if I were to say that No RX7 will ever compare to a Mustang, it's a stupid, uneducated remark. And to those of you who took the time to read all 20 pages of the thread. I'm sorry.

 

I actually just spent another 45 minutes reading this thing... I can't believe I actually wasted that much time, I think I got to page 15 or so (the same thing is repeated over and over and over again).

I didn't feel as if T-Rex was misrepresenting too bad, although he should have let the topic die a long time ago. There was just a lot of ignorant domestic guys egging him on.

 

I believe if you look through that thread you will never see a time where anyone said "No mustang will ever compare to any rx7" I think the quote was "No mustang will ever outhandle and RX7". I am sure the point was made by 94 T-rex that the fastest mustang was faster than the fastest RX7 and that the rx7 was NOT designed to be a drag car but can compete with the best of them. I *think* then 94 T-rex said that the mustang was not designed to be car to be a great handler.

I *think* also that 94T-Rex was making a point and he was called a ******** and *rice* from the first post.

I *think* that nobody ever botherd to quote the good things he said about the mustangs, just all the nasty things he said in response to being called a ricer

I *think* he maintains from the beginning that he as mad when he read the generic post that "All imports are easy to beat".

Also, I *think* this thread died 30 days ago with daytrip and everyone respecting the other cars till one of you guys re opened the thread.

You know what else is stupid about that thread, the whole "power adder" argument. How is it a "power adder" if its stock? At least one of the stang guys brought that up, and most stangers are consistent in doing so when talking about particular imports. Then they say some crap like "if I strap a turbo, blah, blah, blah, blah....." Thats like me saying let me add in an extra rotor or two, or how about some more displacement. Arguments like these are just plain dumb. The RX7 is the thinking man's supercar. The Mustang is for guys that dragstrip in Walmart parking lots. Anyway, I for one agree that T-Rex94 is justified in defending his argument on that forum. Calling the RX7 rice is just not playing cricket, if you know what I mean.

ZeroBanger: I think you're wasting your time on the stang.net forum. There's just a few idiots over there that continue to show their ignorance and turn everything into a flame war. My particularly favorite agrument was that the Mustang is the better car because it has a back seat, so you can haul your family over to grocery store... I don't know about you all, but I sure the hell didn't buy my RX7 to be a grocery-go-getter.

I read one or two pages of that thread. Didn't want to waste my time reading it all. And some people over there really need a reality check. Like the one guy said that his mustang came fully loaded from the factory for 17k, either that mustang was purchased a long time ago and inflation has taken over or he's lying. And there was a guy that said mustangs from 64-present were meant to be modded. Actually in '64(the first year for the gto, the pioneer of "muscle" cars) a mustang wasn't even considered a performance car, more econo than anything.

People need to be more realistic, most of them sound like they're under the age of 18 as much as they don't know about other cars.
