remember that E85 is subsidized by the government and there has been a lot of talk of ending the subsidy. they almost killed it in Congress just a week ago.

When the new Congress gets in tomorrow, you can consider more subsidies dead - rasing the debt ceiling above 14 trillion is absolutely insane. There is certainly coming a reckoning day for the out-of-control spending. Keeping an FD might be the least of anyones worries.

Hahahaha no man not for my replica. When I get a second one I'd definitely consider it. In fact, its very likely that my second FD is going to be a v8 the longer I wait.

Christ, there's nothing magic about $14T vs. $13.9T any more than there is about $3.99/gallon vs. $4.01/gallon gas Keep your guns in your pockets, find something sensible as a daily driver, and enjoy your FD's.

Hmmm...I pay 8 dollars/gallon for 110 race gas, so yeah, I'm sure I would...

Also, no_more_rice, if your FD is getting 18MPG on the highway your tune is god awful, and/or you have leaky injectors/something else going on with your car...

And I believe it was Peter who said "anyone who owns one of these cars knows that gas prices are the least of your worries." If that's not a true statement, I don't know what is!

I pay something like $10 per gallon here, iow each fill up costs me $200. If prices hit $5, I'll throw a party or buy one more sports car I don't use my car as dd though. Mainly not because of petrol prices but because it's the only genuine FD in the country, it's rare with capital R

I will say this. I think Mazda is going to blow us away with the fuel economy of the next rotary (comparatively speaking). I've been following its developments and they look very promising.

Why do you say that? You plan on shooting uncle sam when he pulls up in a tank and ask for more taxes.

I need them to blow me away with the power, and put it in the right vehicle. Tell 'em to email me, I'll lay it out for them :-)

YEP

I don't own an FD because I'm concerned with gas mileage which is why this thread is rediculous.

I said 18-20, and that's averaging about 85 mph...nothing wrong with the tune or the car

Looking forward to it....the current rotary is still stuck in the stone age in many respects

Just 85 MPH, are you driving miss daisy or something?

It's OK to get 18 to 20 mpg on the HWY that's what my car gets and anyone getting over that is driving 65 and not going up hills.

There is however something wrong with your car. It's non sequential

I'd never drive an FD on the street with non sequential twins but from what I can tell we wouldn't see eye to eye on much of anything.

I could see you and jimlab really getting along famously though. You'd call him a moron he'd call you a dumbass and you two could both carry on in harmony for hours.

Mark, the next time you send someone a PM, I want you to copy me on it.

Maybe this is the reason you're not attending (and have never attended) DGRR, which is local to you..... afraid of seeing people in the community face to face? I'll be there in April, will you?
