Usually with price inflations, people make adjustments. Thats if you know how to manage money in the first place.
If you're making payments on the FD, this is probably not the right car for you.
And yes when gas went to 4.50 for 93 a couple of years ago, i still drove the FD. I have a daily driver so i didnt care.
If gas goes up again (which it probably will by summer since everyone travels at that time), ill still keep it. This is a car ill never sell. I promised myself that and ill keep that promise.

Already more than 5$ a Gallon here (Premium at 1.28 a liter times 4 liters per US Gallon) last night, will go up in summer), and no, selling it is the furthest thought from my mind. I'd give up alcohol, tobacco and cable TV to pay for gas before I give up any car.

There are times on these long trips I wish I had the big LSx C6 with 26 mpg highway, tons of room, and plenty of power at any rpm

I know i shouldnt talk in general about them but i been on this forum long enough to make that analysis.
Most of them are still making payments on them, living paycheck off paycheck just to get that HKS twin power, or to get those 2000 dollar wheels they always wanted to replace the ugly stock ones.
I also find it extremely funny how most people spend, 15,20k or even more to make their FD ALL OUT, then sell it for like 18k because they are broke, decided they wanna go back to school, lost their job etc.
I think that mentality of spending and their poor judgment has a LARGE effect on the FD market value today.
I've had my FD for almost 8 years and i still have the original stock 93 paint. Doesnt mean i cant afford it, i just choose to set my financial priorities straight.
I have a mortgage, while i live in another APT, i own the FD outright and i have another car i own outright. Its not easy for most people to do but its also not hard to do all this as i did it myself. Im not gloating, i just think most people should just chillax on going all out with their car, 75% of the time they end up selling it within 6 months.
Look at the LSx FD's. There are almost at 50% of the FD's for sale today LOL
I thought people did the conversion because they didnt want the problems related with keeping the rotary??

Seriously though, if anyone is worried about gas going to $5/gallon, hold off on the next ugprade and buy yourself a civic to dd.

Anyone who routinely drives this car on the highway, and boasts about getting good mileage is collecting fools gold. Putting lots of highway miles on this car will mean more frequent (read expensive) maintenance.
The FD should be driven infrequently, mostly for fun, and not as basic transportation.

I'll keep mine, going e85 because here, unlike the rest of the US, it's quite a bit cheaper than regular old 89/90 octane (87 is more expensive, probably because of the lack of ethanol)

And my car has been running better than ever.
I know about the carbon buildup etc etc but i think a WOT or 2 per drive is enough as i never had a problem yet. I change my plugs once a year regardless of miles and i change my oil ever so religiously.

Agree for the most part, but I don't own anything to have it sit. I don't collect anything. It gets used, or it's gone. No garage queens. With that said, these cars obviously are not daily drivers, either
