idle problems, is this the end ?
I have a problem with my car when idle. The engine does not run smoothly and almost stalls but then recoveres and there is a lot of movement being displayed on the boost gauge even though the car is in idle and it dosnt sound right. car is sounding more like a train sort of pulsaating and the boost guage is very irratic. Is this a problem with the spark plugs ie need changing or is this bad news something much worse.
The car idles witrh a boost reading of about -0.05 bar but the needle is very irratic at idle and the the engine sounds choppy. Could this be down to spark plugs as i put oil in the car the other day and oil spilled on the engine wich i have tried to wipe away. is it possible that the sparks are wet?
Is it also possible that the leads need changing?
Can anybody help me out before i go down to the auto shop so that at least they wont be able to rip me off. (im from the united Kingdom and we always getting ripped off over here)
Thanks guys in advanced.
I have a hks boost guage, WS induction kit, recirculating dump valves and an APEXI back box. everything else is pretty standard accept bomex body kit and ap racing wheels.
Can anybody tell me how to do a compression check as well, what instrument do i need and where can i get it from?
