idle hunts at 2500 to 2900 did a uim swapp what the hell

hey all man im geeting tired of this car i might just get a carrera 4 **** lol but i dont think that i can get rid of my 7 well can anyone help me with this, i have checked the fuel cable and it has play in it so thats not it, i check my hoses and couplings and there all tight, i have adjusted the idle screw so im lost oh yea amd my airpump is out was told that could be it but i plugged that line up too

maybe a cracked UIM, or maybe a bad UIM gasket??

Had the same problem, and it was a combination of both, a cracked throttle body, and a misadjusted TPS.

Damian, has a good thread on how to adjust the TPS. Just search for it.

how do you tell q

how can you tell if your uim or tb is cracked i mean do i see smoke or air leaking. i just swapped out tb and uim so please let me know

get a can of carb cleaner and spray it on the UIM and around the gaskets, if the idle jumps up or down, you have a vacuum leak somewhere, and make sure that all of the vacuum hoses are connected to the nipples.

Did you check your TPS as I recommended you do in the last thread you posted about this?

if you can afford a carrera 4, i would suggest you to get one. that or just pay a professional to fix it since you got the money. its not worth the time or effort on your part if you can make just as much money working to tell you the truth.

this is a good idea although i would suggest starter fluid. just have a fire extinguisher handy just incase
