Idle Hunt after Twin Power I searched...

So here's the deal...I installed an HKS twin Power yesterday and before that the car idled at 900-950 all the time, cold, hot, in between. I start the car after the install and she idled at 1200 and wouldn't come down below that. Then I take it out and drive it, and the first stop sign I hit she starts idle hunting betweem 1200-1600 just up and down...Mod's are intake, dp, mp, cb, fmic, powerfc, hks twin power. So I searched but I need some help getting in the right direction of what to check next. While I had the TB off I cleaned it, and I removed the idle speed control and cleaned it.
Thanks in advance...
Dustin

You probly need to adjust the idle screws, mine will do this but if not adjusted right. But mine is not even close to stock so im not 1oo% sure on yours!

What does this tell you? Your stock igntion wasn't igniting the combustion as well as the HKS and so it is now producing a little more power. This increased the revs a little and too high for the ISC to lower it.

I'd guess either you created a vacuum leak while working on the car, or the two idle screws may need to be readjusted since you cleaned the TB. I doubt that the new ignition made much difference in idle speed - the stock ignition system is plenty good to support idle conditions.

I'd start with the following:

1. Make absolutely sure you have no vacuum leaks.
2. Screw in the air bleed screw on the bottom of the TB (gently) until the speed comes down, or until it bottoms. It it bottoms and idle speed is still too high, then
3. adjust the idle stop screw on the front of the throttle body to get the speed down.

Well I think I have it figured out, another rookie mistake, I disconncected the battery to install the twin power, and the bouoncing idle was probably the powerfc relearning the idle. I readjusted the air bleed screw, it was out really far, I'll get the car back together and update. But my guess is that the air bleed screw hole was partially blocked thus it was out so far and when I cleaned the TB it screwed with the idle and the powerfc was just trying to learn and I wouldn't sit still long enough for it to learn...Sorry

No problem - glad you got it sorted out!
