I am a new owner of a 3rd gen. The car has a check engine light on. I jumped the diagnosis box and it is showing a code 16. Which correlates to an egr code. My idle is high about 1200, and while driving and coming to a stop it will idle erratically and then smooth out. Is the egr the source of this, or should I be looking elsewere?

 

Check to make sure the EGR is plugged in, then reset the Ecu to see if the code goes away. In any case, fix that and see if the high idling stops. Then if it doesn't, check your idle bleed screw and possibly the accel. warmup screw.
