Question Ideas for a loose cat heat shield

The heat shield on the engine-side of my stock cat is loose, and I think it's why my engine has been sounding ricey lately

The ends of the shield are designed to squeeze tightly on the pipe, but now there is a little play. The body of the cat and the downpipe flange prevent access to the edges of the shield. So it looks like I'll have to cut a slit and band-clamp it to make it tight again. Or get it welded.

Any recommendations?

Just pull it off. That's what I did. I hated that rattleing noise. I eventually replaced both cats with a DP & a high flow cat w/ no heat sheilds at all.
