IAC weird noise: car won't start! *VIDS*

Got a new engine...

Started fine.

JDM car.

Plugged a Power FC...

Today while we were still looking for any leaks, the engine stopped. No I didn't turn the key off. Since this issue, I'm trying to start the engine but it won't! I just saw my IAC is bad. Is it the problem? It hardly starts with the stock ECU and once it is, the car sounds and revv like crap.

Bad IAC

Trying to start the RX-7...

Thanks for any help!

yea I would think that IAC is bad and the car sounds flooded. Have you tried to de-flood?

It never starts with the Power FC plugged.

When I plug the stock ECU, yes it starts easier when I press the pedal a bit.

I saw IAC is like 600 $... is there a way to repair it?

I don't think it's flooded, it always start at the first time (with difficulty) with the stock ECU.

Thanks for your help I really appreciate it, we're desperate here!

The factory service manual has the procedure to test the IAC solenoid. The noise alone doesn't mean its fried. You can always try and get a used one once you've tested the voltage on yours.

Have you removed the proper pins from your harness when youve installed the PFC?

A buddy named Dominic mapped the Power FC for my current setup.

I tested the IAC. gracer7-rx7 you are right! IAC is working fine.

What do you mean by removing the proper pins?!

I've searched. I can't find a problem like mine.

I've been checking everything like three time with two mechanics since yesterday, we've spent lot of time on this engine. We do not have anymore idea.

I think I'll never achieve to start this engine, this is really strange.

Any other idea?

Dominic doesn't have what's needed to put a map in the Power FC, i always do it for him so basically you have no clue what is in his power fc and neither does he i guess...

Was that the power fc that came with the engine, was it already running with this engine?

I know he had some problem with a power fc burning up, he had it repaired by Apexi, not sure if he ever tried it again, maybe it is bad.

I directly bought the Power FC from Steve, the guy who had once 4 FD3S in his driveway . Dominic put his map in it before giving it to me.

Tonight, we'll test the fuel pump with a manometer to verify the pressure and we'll look at its wiring. We hope that it's the problem, we really do not have anymore idea.

How do I do that?

My main mechanic is a great tuner, I'll ask him to see the map.

Thanks a lot puma!
