IAC? and EL Unit

93 RX-7 FD with Power-FC

Just wanted to confirm if I no longer have the IAC I think it's called I also don't need the EL-Unit right? as it controls the idle using the IAC. I would just have to have a slightly higher idle so it wouldn't die at startup or lights and fans on etc. car doesn't have AC and don't think I will be driving at night anyway though. There isn't much info on the EL-Unit out there so anything will help!

Please let me know what you all think. Thanks!

I think you are correct regarding how the EL unit works. Personally I would not recommend eliminating the IAC, or you are going to be dealing with an ugly compromise. Without an IAC the engine either needs throttle to keep from stalling while cold, or idles too high when it is warm. Keeping the thermowax valve on the throttle might help.

Thanks for the reply. I would've kept it but I am without that option as it and I believe also the thermowax has been deleted. How bad is the compromise. I have it idling really high right now pending a tune after I get it running again, but would rather avoid flooding if I forget to throttle... Any suggestion?
