The bov is closed by pressure when the car is under acceleration if you took it off the boost would just leak out into the air so your turbos would be working very hard to keep the boost up, I would not suggest taking it off. When your off the gas the vacum opens the valve and releases the pressure. I would say try borrowing someone eleses, or buy a used one, I did for $18.

yes you can do that but make sure that you plug the hole so that air won't leak.

take it off and test it. you will need a vaccuum pump/tester though that you can buy at the autoparts store. use the instructions on this page:

Get a new BOV if the old is dying. Removing the BOV will cause turbo-surge and shorten the life of your turbos
