Unhappy I think my engine is gone . help ??

My radiator creaked , so the coolant went to **** .The buzzer came on and the needle went close to red before I stopped to cull down .Do you people think my motor is gone ?I have 2K on the motor .. Help me out ,thanks Dan

Running the coolant temp to the redline does not instantly mean you have lost your motor. I would get the rad fixed and see if the car runs again. when you first start the engine you need to see if there are bubbles forming in the coolant neck which would mean compression is bypassing the water jacket seals. If not you are good to go.
