I think iam just paranoid...

A car iam looking at buying is at "Rotary Reliability and Racing", they are the ones that did the rebuild for the guy and now its there just geting a compression test done and just a check of the turbos. I was wondering if they could just hand me a sheet from a different car and i wouldnt even know the difference...since i wasnt there when the test was done. Do you think that could be the case? i talked to the guy and he told me the numbers are good, the turbos are fine the only thing thats whatever on the car is the suspension is making noise. He said other the that the compression readings where good. Do you guys think i should take it somewhere else and have them look it over? or em i being to paranoid?

Some people call me paranoid, but I like to think that I'm just really, really aware of my surroundings.

Seriously, if you have a concern then check it out. Don't be afraid to get a second opinon. These cars a cheap to buy but expensive to maintain. Better to disappoint the guy and not buy his car, than to have it break down 5 miles down the road after you bought it.

An objective opinion is what you want. Doesn't matter how honest the shop is that did the work, the perception will be that they were not objective in their assessment of the car.

Get a second opinon i don't think it should matter. If it is off then that puts RR&R's credibilty in check though.

just from driving the car myself...it runs amazing. So smooth, and no leaks or smoke or anything. I stalled it 3 times casue i was wearing flip flops and it has a 6 puck...and it started right back up no problems. Iam gonna do another test drive to check the boost again casue i kept forgeting to look at the guage.

nocomply24, hey bro. the guys over at RRR (Killer Bee Racing) are good guys. I have personally worked with them along with my uncle on my uncles 7..they're the only shop my uncle goes to. Very good work, trustfull people.

The guy you deff. wanna talk to is Cory. He gave me good advice and knowledge with my 3rd gen. Not that the other guys aren't good, (Nick is also) but he's the guy I talked most with. Even though I do almost everything with my car, thats one shop full of people I'd trust my car with.

On the other side of the spectrum, another oppinion wouldn't hurt. They're humans and can make mistakes such as simply didn't see something or read a gauge wrong, etc. There are so many shops by you, it wouldn't be hard making an appointment.

hey thanks buffdaddy its good to know i can trust them. Iam gonna look at the print out of the test. I really have no reason to be paranoid, its amazing how well this car runs. i was thinking of taking it to mazdatrix cause the car is out in the oc...so there not that far from there. But is it possible for them to fake a compression test? or use a different car and fake me out? i mean is it possible to be done in general not just by them?

Yea its possible to be "Scammed" by them and by anyone. I can print out a sheet pretending anything (think about fraud) and sell you a crap car thats been blockwelded.

Dont second guess anything. Get the car to Mazdatrix and have them do an inspection too. As long as theres nothing wrong with the car, the owner should be more then willing to take it and let you go with.

That's a bad sign. If you think he's lying, he probably is. There was another recent poster on this forum who had a seller tell him about a problem he minimized which turned out to be a major problem. Have the car thoroughly checked out, otherwise you have only yourself to blame if it turns out to be a bad one. Any money you pay now for a thorough inspection can end up saving you thou$and$ and give you piece of mind.
Obviously you're worried about it, or else you wouldn't be asking for reassurance here.

That's not true. You're in one of the car capitols of the world. The selection available to you is much better than most. But these cars are getting increasingly rare, and you have to be discerning when buying one. Know what to look for, and when you find something promising, have it checked out. It may take some looking, but it'll work out better for you in the end.

It doesn't take much reading through the posts on this board to find new buyers who got stung and who are kicking themselves now for what they didn't know when they plunked down their money.

Hmm, yes I really agree with you about being paraniod now. Like I said bro, dont just second guess anything, Make sure all your ends are covered. There is a reason that you were second guessing this car before..possibly it was gut instinct. To me, thats not a tough decision...its just not worth it man. Who knows what else he's lied about.
