I need help fast! I (and the car) am cursed!

Ok, so I am driving home today, I stop at a neighbors house to say what's up, as I am rooling down his driveway, the car just quits. I don't mean puttered and died, I mean just everything shut off. Then I start to crank the car back up and when I turn the key it turns on all the lights and stuff, but as soon as I hit the start position or whatever to start the car, everything just shuts off. It doesn't try to crank, no lights. no nothing. Just shuts off. Can I have any more freaking problems??????? What is going on now!

Check your battery terminals. You have a loose or bad connect

The only thing is, I went back over to try to crank it again, and the lights light up and everything like normal, then as soon as it hits start, it dies again. Then I tried it again, same result.

Your battery cables are loose at the battery

Your battery cables are loose at the battery or there is corrision between the battery and the cable. remove both cables and clean the ends with steel wool or wire brush

DUDE! Stop driving your car until you get all these connections figured out. I hope your weekend is free because based on all your posts...YOU HAVE A LOT OF WORK TO DO!

Yeah, It sounds like a low battery. If all connections are good (which they might not be, it sounds like you know you need to do the grounding kit) then it could be the alternator. Try jump/bump starting it. Then get back to us.

I first thought about main fuses but that was thrown out fairly quick.

Man, I know. Everytime something happens, even if it is simple, I freak out. It was the damn negative bettery cable loose. But I think I need to get another terminal, this one is really messed up, and the cable looks like it has been through hell. The cable 4 guage? How long? Can I just replace the wire? If so I will just replace it with some other wire.

i agree and you really need to do some basic automotive research. these are complex cars and you need to be able to diagnose basic problems. it took three guys posting and you arguing with them before you believed the battery terminal diagnosis, which was your problem. go through the car and do an extensive basic maintenance, including wires, cables, filters, grounds, fluids, clamps, hoses, couplers, etc., so when you do have a problem you know it isn't just a lack of routine maintenance. i'm not flaming you, i just believe you could eliminate may of the problems you've posted by doing a thorough maintenance on the car.
