Exclamation I need help fast

I am a stupid *** hole!!! I locked the keys in the car with the car running. I have a full tank of gas. Its 5:55pm now and my wife has the only other spare key. Shes at college right now and wont be home until 10:40 pm. Will my car be ok? I all ready had the wrecker try to slim jim it, but he could not get in. Should I let it run until my wife comes home or break out the window?

I'd let it run because a tank of gas is cheaper than a window.. Unless your car is ungodly loud. You got 4 hours. I don't think your car will overheat, but I could be wrong.

Make sure your radiator fans are on and hope it doesnt overheat. You should be fine if the fans are working. I dont know about the battery though.

How do you lock your keys in your car? My doors will not lock unless I put the key in the door and lock it that way. If I push down the lock switch and shut the door it does not lock. If I push down the lock switch while the door is already closed it locks, so it is totally impossible to lock myself out. I'm assuming it's a different situation for other FD's? How is this?

ok, I shut the car off and locked the doors. Then I thought I would show my buddy the engine so I started it back up so that he could hear and see every thing in motion. After showing it to him I shut the hood and went to get back into the car to shut it off and realized how fu**ing stupid I am.

After I get my key, Im gona make like 10 spares!

I locked my keys in my car with my car running once. The towing company was able to slim jim it. He had the diagram and everything. He said it was the hardest car he ever did.

Just lock the door from the inside lock, and then close the door with the outside handle up. Locked.

The typical foreign car locking method.

So are the fans working? You can hear them from the outside. If not, then you'll be screwed. Plus, your hood is closed.

taxi your butt over to the school. get the key from your woman and come back. or send your buddy.

or you could crimp the fuel line like you do a garden hose so it doesn't get any fuel. or you could remove the positive terminal from the battery while the car is running. Yeah.. don't do any of these... I'm joking.

What about plugging up the exhaust so it will stall????? I have never done this personally, but heard it works. Just make sure it is nothing flammable. Anyone can feel free to point out if this won't work or isnt safe.

Plugging up the exhaust seems like a really bad idea to me.

pull the weather striping back, starting from the top of the window. stick a straightened clothes hanger in between the striping and the window. now take the hangar and let the window down by pressing on the window switch. be patien, it might take a minute to land on top of the switch. good luck!

she would kill you if you had to spend $$$$$ because your car overheated because were a dummy and locked your keys in your car. Just strap one on and go get the key from her.

well I hope she checks her cell phone, I left her a voice mail. It takes an hour to get where shes at. So I think Ill just wait. Oh yeah I looked at doing the hanger thing and it would work, but I dont want to take a chance of screwing up my tint, or scratching my winow. Ill keep an eye on the guages and if it starts to over heat Il break the window Thanks for all the responses guys.

or you could call those guys who repair your glass "while you wait" and have them use those big suction cups to pull out your winshield or back windwow and then crawl in and turn it off.

EDIT... your winshield (as in not your loseshield) and your back windwow (makes that cool sound as if 1 window is cracked open on the freeway and you get this wierd flutterning noise and your ear feels like it's getting pressureized) are optional. their stock replacements are a windshield and back window. I can't spell today.

As an employee of AAA emergency roadside assistance, call the automobile club and they'll send someone over right away. They will put your call on rush, and if they can't open it themselves they'll bring a locksmith to you absolutely free of charge. Usually they open everything unless it's a 00 MB and a 911 or a BMW 7 series. They should be there within 15 min, if you're not a mbr just take the stations commercial rate, it's worth it.
