I love the feeling of finishing a long project. :)

I can see the end of the tunnel now. Its been around 4.5 months now, but my 3rd gen is almost running again. Its been a slow and expensive trip to say the least. And all I can say is that building a single turbo setup is'nt cheap or easy. What I did was basically build my own single setup. Something I would'nt do again-

The biggest pains where building the down pipe, and IC piping with a BOV flange on it. Not to mention bashing in the frame rail. The down pipe was by far the hardest to build. Between the wastegate, and the heat sheilds, it can be difficult fitting a 3" DP in thier. All the while trying to make it fit to the MP. Not to mention getting a good solid weld was'nt easy at times. This was by far the biggest pain.

Things that realy sucked making where the little things. Like a oil return line block off plate, and a oil return line for the turbo. Changing the end tank of a IC. Making a custom mount for your torque brace....Each one of these things is'nt hard, but each one takes time and energy. And after awhile, it kinda drained me.

All I have left to do now, is clean out my IC. Install my Groundzero motorsports fuel pump, relocate the fuel filter to the engine bay, then add some coolant. Then have Ralph Friend@GZ do some tuning on it. What I'm hoping for is around 325rwhp+ on 10psi. For the time being, I'm gonna keep the boost down until I can save up my pennies again to have my engine freshend up with a healthy streetport. After that we'll tune for higher boost. I'd realy like to tune for 15psi\400rwhp but feel that the stock motor with 47k miles, might not hold together.

Here's a list of stuff on my FD, because someone will ask.

SR stage II
XS cast manifold
HKS 50mm Racing Wastegate with 10psi/14.7psi springs
Greedy Type R Bov (Can't beleive I have something called type R )
Custom 3" DP with a open air wastegate
M2 Medium style IC
Mid pipe
N1 dual tip, with silencers
Groundzero Motorsports fuel pump
850cc primarys
1300cc secondarys
Power FC
Greedy Profec B
Evans coolant@0psi
Customized M2 carbon fiber air box
Relocated air temp. sensor
And one big air filter.

Like I said before I'm hoping for 325rwho@10psi/400rwhp@15psi.

CJ

Sorry for my rambling....I'm just realy, realy, realy excited to drive something with some power again.....not that my Rx-8 is'nt fun...but I want something that will blow the tires off all the way through 2nd gear again. Did I mention I'm excited??

My FD is sitting in the shop with a blown motor...and once it's done I am going to sell it. I got approximately 10% of the things I wanted to accomplish done. I am so disappointed, so I can imagine how happy you are right now. Just wish I could be there with you. Congrats

Why? Blown motors and FDs go together hand and hand. It's a fact of life.

Good for you CJ, glad to see that you're excited .

ehhh don't worry about it. mine has been dead for 1 yr and 2 weeks. my crappy air force pay doesn't help either. That is why I can't wait for reenlistment bonus next year. then it will be some good times with a big sum of cash.

Thanks everyone for the encouragment. And if I had to do it all over again, I would have picked up a allready made kit. Probably a To4s, or a T04x^2. Pics should be up this weekend if anyone would like to see some.

The fuel pump is out of a Porsche of some sort. Its pretty good sized pump. This is not the Supra fuel pump, cosmo pump, or Rotary Performance pump. He says that with enough injector, it should hold 450-475rwhp. At some further point in time, I'm going to run one to each fuel rail. Probably when I start running the 1600cc injectors. (And see what this turbo will realy put out. )

I'm sorry to say Jeff, I did. I had to move it over around 3/4" It actually looks like the places that had to be moved in where suppose to be their. And of course I painted it after I was finished.

I should say that I'm hoping for 325rwhp on a mustang dyno too. I figure if I hope for low results, I can't be let down.

I challenge you to show me dyno sheets where any stock twin FD put down 400 SAE corrected at the wheels at 15 psi .

If at 10psi the stock twins make 255 base or 220RWP from the factory how are you guys making 80-100 more RWP at the same PSI???

First of, congrats on nearing the end of your project. I'm at the beginning of mine........
I hope to be in your position in a year or so.

I have to question a couple of the numbers being thrown around as well.

All the bolts ons and more flow (ported motor)...stock fuel system, full emissions, and A/C & P/S.

BTW, I don't inflate my numbers to sound "cool" on the internet...I was making between 299 and 311rwhp...depends on how dangerous you want your A/F.

Nice work .... I know it's going to feel good to be back in mine soon.( I hope) It's been over1 1/2 years since it last rolled under it's own power. ( too much fixing everyone elses and not mine ) Congrats on the project. I along with turbojeff must wince at the mear thought of bashing in the frame rail to make a DP fit. But that's how we all learn. Good job and I look foward to the Pics of the finished product!! Aloha, Dave
