i cant believe it. but i wrecked my baby. i need advise. its not real bad. i need a bumper, hood, headlights, i also smashed the radiator and the assembly. i know this is a easy fix but im broke. rest of car is good and engine is strong. should i fix it or sell it as is? i dont have the money and i hate to see it set . i would think i could get 6000 out of it. it has some upgrades that are worth alot. please give me everyones opinions.

You are the only one that can really make that decision. Personally I would try to save up money and patch it up the best you can for now. But my guess is that everyone is going to want to know what you got on your engine and try to get you to part the whole car out haha.

And I take it you don't have that kind of insurance? If you really do love the car take out a small personal loan to fix it, if you'd like. Ya and pics

If your not going to fix it within a year or so you should just sell it. After awhile the car will just sit and rot away .You could always find another one down the line.

i will get some pics posted this weekend. in your guys opinion what do you think this damage will cost me. first off i didnt hit very hard but on these cars it dont take much. i need a front bumper, headlights, hood and the radiator assembly that has to be welded on. i know everyones gonna say "i have to see pics" but just guess on used parts without any paint. just getting it back together.

Really, people need to see the damage to be able to give you an estimate. They may see things that you aren't noticing. You'll be able to get better answers after posting some pictures.

I've come to find the body work is much more expensive than you anticipate it to be. A front end paint job worthy of an FD is going to cost quite a bit.

post the pictures... my buddy just had his whole front end built. sounds like the dammage would be the exact same amount of work. i'll ask him how much the labor cost but post the pictures to get a real response.

wow damage can REALLY very... at best you don't have too much to fix beyond what you said.... worst is subframe damage and possibly unibody damage... if thats the case....it'll never handle correctly again.
My brother did the same thing to my old subaru (00' 2.5rs turboed) spun out and hit a gaurd rail at like 20mph in the snow, did about the same damage but also crumpled part of the unibody that we didn't realise was messed up till we tried to straighten the front radiator mount... no real way to fix it perfectly.

You need to post pics.. but better yet, take it to your body man for an estimate. Ultimately, we could all give you our guestimated figure, but you wouldn't be shipping it to anyone out of your own area.. So, talk to your guy and see what he will charge you to paint/body work.

I'd say around $1250-$1500 roughly. Broken down accordingly:

Front Bumper- $200-$300 I've seen some go for fairly cheap. If you want, I can find mine and sell for $50 plus whatever shipping is, as long as the bodyshop still has it.

Headlights- $350-$500 I'm taking a really rough guess there as I haven't researched headlights much.

Hood- $200-$300 I'd go ahead and get a carbon fiber hood or try to find someone with a stock hood who has replaced theirs with c/f and wants to sell cheap. If going c/f, you can get a stock style for about $100 more.

Radiator- $300-$400 I don't know if you destroyed everything in that area or if you only need another radiator, so add or subtract as needed.

Well pricing depends on what you buy and how carefully you shop for it.

Most of the cost of body panels comes from the repainting. Things like a fender, bumper cover, or hood are usually $100-200 each in good used condition. So since you have a list, go to www.mazdapartscheap.com and see what the new pieces cost, or go to the classified section and search for these parts to see what used ones are selling for.

My fix cost my insurance $10,000 with labor and parts. New OEM hood, new OEM bumper, new OEM radiator support, new OEM undertray, etc...

Here's a pic:

Fix it. Try to find used parts that are already painted silver. Paint is where you get hit hard in the pocketbook. With all the parts I could fix that in a day no prob. I bet it could be fixed for under 3K.

The silver car is mine. I was just showing him as a refference. Mine did have on buckle in the frame though. The very first crumple zone, but it's good now. Damn Tijuana drivers slammin` on their brakes and ****.

If you hadn't used brand new OEM parts, you would've been a lot better off. Did you order from a dealer or did you at least call Ray?
