I wish I was the guy that was doing the welding. I'm just doing the R+R of EVERYTHING on the car.

Look for an update tonight. I helped the bodyguy clamp up the front of the car today. It is amazing how easy it was to lift the front of the car and line it up with the floor and door posts. It fit like a glove.

Hey, is he seam welding everything? Like those crazy guys in Nippon do? A little heavier, but some silly increase in stiffness...

Hell, just doing the R+R is super cool, and it's so nice to see it being done right!!

Here's something new. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33646 Although I don't like the design, the Kevlar should be much stiffer. I'll have to ask Atilla if he can do Carbon/Kevlar.

Jeff would you consider this the least "busy" in your opinion hood? Maybe to be used for a stock car? After some research it looks like it is.

I think it is the least busy hood out there. Could be because it is a Mazdaspeed/factory design, but I like it the best.

Marital conflict resolution and the vented hood

I just ordered one and the experience and customer service could not have been any better.
My problem was opening the hood after parking in the garage. My wife claimed that it instantly heated up the garage to unpleasent temps. Now the vented hood will radiate heat in a stealth mode. Science over marital FD conflict. Some of you may appreciate this, others stay tuned...

I've been waiting months for this hood to be available through a group buy. Did I miss out or did you guys pay full price?

The group buy savings are real but you'll need 4 other simultaneous buyers. My car is in the paint shop right now and for the hood to have been properly prepared ( remember these hoods need time on a car or in "heat" to cure and some refinishing to paint), timing was everything. the people behind the sale are tops. I expect the product to fit like OEM. Fingers are crossed.

Could be nice if this hood were painted and left the kevlar in places as stripes. Like the special edition Z06:

Unfortunately, no close ups...
