Angry I havent even driven her yet....

So ive been tryin to get this dam car going since i bought it and i think ive got it figured out. So ive replaced and fixed lots of un needed bs but now i know that it has to be the oil metering pump and its been in limp mode this whole time. I tried to look at the harness and dont think it is the wires. I wanted to do premix anyway but never figured out exactly the best way.I bought a pfc from SRmotorsports and just need to know if i can set something on it or do i need to get a used oil metering pump and strap it to the strut tower bar or what. Please let me know how to get it out of limp mode so i can take her for a spin.;-)

Question

So the car won't start anymore because the oil metering pump hasn't been working for a while? Has the car been used without the metering pump working?

no the car starts but it is in limp mode atm so it cut off at the mear sight of boost and will not rev past 3k. i just need to know the best way to go about killing the limp mode wether it is just a setting on the pfc or disconnecting the oil metering pump. but i read on a few post about pluging in a working omp and just staping it to something in the eingine bay to kill the limp mode then you just run premix so you dont kill the motor.

ok so i though that i was a little clearer the second time. anyway i know what the problem is, i know what codes would be going off when i start it, i know reseting would do nothing, and i know how to fix this problem. What i want to know is if there are easier or cheaper ways of getting the car out of this "omp" enduced safe mode otherwise known as limp mode or as i like to call it "waist lots of money mode".

Fix the OMP maybe? In the Subaru scene, the 'check engine lights' were referred to as "diagnostic trouble codes" by the factory ECU and manual, as if to give you a head start on what to FIX, not what to try and work around...

well i can try that but i know the pfc can use the oil metering pump witch is good if you aren't going to run pre-mix. So i hope you are right because i dont want to have to buy a omp just to get it out of this safe mode.

well as i thought it is still in the safe mode and even checked the pfc so i know i unplugged the right one but it is a fail safe so it will stay on till the ecu thinks the pump is in operation cause if it didnt your apex seals would just crap out on you if you drove it around with no oil bien given to the inner rotor housing

pfc is the only totaly tunable ecu for the rx-7 that supports the oil metering pump so yes there is. That is why everyone that doesnt want to run premix and still get a full ecu buys a pfc.
