Sucks to hear man, I feel your pain. Don't spend too much on drinking though. The money spent on boos can go towards your rebuild.

What do you think happened? What AFRs did your tuner shoot for? Were you pre-mixing?

How many miles on it? Engines don't just break.....it was only 15 psi on a smaller single turbo.

"SUPPOSEDLY 41K" but I'll know for sure when I crack it open. if u check some of my previous posts I started to suspect that this engine didnt have 41K on it.

Sounds like you had a junk motor, or there is some other problem you're not aware of. Do you have any EGT or AFR readings? At 15 psi you should be able to get lots of mileage out of a 13B.....

as in 1200 degrees F peak? Your motor should *not* fail at that level. Sounds like you may have had a high mileage/shoddily built motor. How exactly is it blown, what is it doing?

well, detonation and blowing a coolant seal are two entirely different events, you're saying both happened to you simultaneously? Did you overheat the car? how do you know you detonated? Just trying to help you sort this out, more details will help.

I have seen 2 N/A motors detonate from being overheated. Too much heat can cause preignition. Its weird opening one of those up.

i plan on it...had the car 4 months and drove it maybe 10 times...a total of 200miles...
winter time is here....i think its time...(streetport... )

and if an fd overheats one time , its pretty much one time to many, correct???
you could kiss your motor goodbye...correct??

Mine only had 27k when it went. Thats what happens when you buy a used car as you never know how it was treated, or how well it was put together. **** happens, I'm not upset about it.

BUT, it will have a new motor soon, and it will be treated properly, and it will last longer than 27k miles. ****** better

Everyday that you own an FD, drop 20-30 bucks in the glove box....maybe you will get lucky and always have enough to pay for broken ****

Just put it in the bank.
You know, I'm a true believer of keeping spare funds availble for these cars for the obvious reasons. Sorry to hear. Unfortunately it's such a common thing I sometimes wonder why I even bother with it you know? Good luck with it!though!
