I have some newbie questions

Well I will start by saying that I want to get a FD to hit 11.5 on drag radials. But at first I am going to buy the basics (Downpipe, midpipe, exhaust, Intercooler and boost controller). What is a good time for the stock twins? Are mid 12's achievable? What size turbo would get me to 11.5 or faster on DR's? Sorry to ask stupid question. Also what kind of improvement would bridge porting a FD have? 30hp? Less? The reason I am buying a FD is I like the rarity and it is not nearly as pricy as a Supra. Could you post a list of mods that can most likely net 11.5 et's?

People havve been known to hit low 11s with the stock twins, but most people seem to sucessfully hit mid to high 11s with them even in sequential mode.

This can generally be done with stock twins, ECU, DP, MP, CB, intake, larger IC, lightweight flywheel. Of course, a ported engine would certainly help out, and knowing how to launch would help even better :p
Remember, just because an FD is slightly cheaper than a Supra does NOT mean it is cheaper to maintain. This is one of the BIGGEST issues people have. They can afford the purchase of the car, but not the repair/maintenance bills. Parts are NOT cheap for this car. You may easily spend several thousand dollars just preparing the car for modifications.

are you looking for a daily driver car that goes to the drag strip on the weekend, or is it going to be an overall drag car?

bridgeporting...i don't know about a 5mm piece of metal holding my corner seals in place...not for a daily driver anyways...

brigeporting might be too big, especially if you intend to drive it around town, you might want to look at a Large street port, and remember the bigger the ports, the more low end torque is lost, so its worth it up to point and depending on the purpose of the car

oh yeah fuel mods are "basics" when modding a FD

I know the reliability is not to good, and I am going to work on the car myself. This also will not be a daily driver, it will be a street car but more of a weekend racer. Also I have talked to a personal friend who knows rotaries really well, he said the same thing. "Bridge porting is gonna make it a crappy car on the road." He also recommended street porting. Thanks for the help guys, anything else? Any sites to find RX-7's for sale?

P.S. I want to build this car to keep up with a DSM GSX sporting a 60-1 ball bearing turbo and every supporting mod you would need. Including a ported head (huge ports!).
