I have a rattling noise under my 3rd gen and don't know what it is. Help anyone ?!?!
I have a rattling noise coming from the tranny area of my 3rd gen . The noise only happens when the clutch is engaged , all gears even in neutral. It disappears when you press down on it and disengage. I replaced the following parts : throw out bearing, pilot bearing , presure plate , clutch and all of the bearings in the tranny were changed with new ones. Still I have the noise and can't find anyone who knows what is causeing it. Any ideas on what it is ??? Has anybody had this problem before??? help!!!!! P.S. the noise sounds more like grinding bearings.
I have the sae problem. And i cant change to 5th gear now. I know 93's had a 5th gear problem. but i havent had a chance to inspect it. My car still in the shop from an accident. Anybody know where can i buy new or used 5 speed Trainees for a good price?? or help with what can be the problem im getting too.
Thanks

Just wanted to say if you are planning to rebuild your tranny don't do what i did and just replace the bearings . Make sure you find some one you trust and get the entire insides replaced. My tranny runs great but since i didn't replace the syncros ,i still have the noise. THe tranny man said that the tranny will work perfectly with that niose and i do say it does but i can't deal with the noise . So do your self a favor and do it right the first time around.
