I know what parts I need. I just dont know with one are proven and what not. I would rather hear it from someone with a proven setup that venture out a return with a post like:

My Engine Blew today!!!

I is true I need more knowledge but I'd rather ask all the question now and do it right the first time. Than try to experiment and brake something.

Do you have a single turbo car man? I do, and believe me there is no way in hell you can do a single turbo conversion on a stock car for 6k. Its just not gonna happen. Also do you have any experiance with bnr turbos and single turbos?

The Power FC will allow you tune for more boost and therefore more exhaust will be going through your turbine on your turbocharger and less exhaust goes through your waistegate. This means you dont have to worry so much about boost creep. A boost controller will help if you are still worried. If you go with 1600 cc secondary fuel injectors then you have to get a new fuel rail and a fuel pressure regulator. If you have a power FC you can control the 1300 cc injectors through it.

My point is if you spend some more time researching, you won't have to depend on some one else's opinion of how to do it right the first time.

I agree. You may find yourself spending $$ fixing unanticipated things. Just enjoy it as it is

I think Jim's joke was more aimed at other recent threads and not so much yourself. Of course, I could be wrong...

6k with an FD? i would take $3,600 of it to M2 for the stage three eingine upgrade package. a aluminum radiator, ditch the AST, get a mazdaspeed short shift kit 300 bucks, go to RX7.com and get the boost gague for the steering column. grab a exedy lightweight cromo flywheel from coximports and a ACT upgraded clutch. swap out the water pump, water hoses, throw in a 1.3 bar radiator cap and some new coolant. mabe dual oil coolers. and use the rest for what ya want. that puts in the 300 hp range assuming your engine is in good condition. that and some performance friction carbon metalic pads and brake bleeding will give you more fun than you can handle for a little while.. just make sure ya bank about 2k for repairs, cause lemmie tell ya. if you can't do all the work yourself, it gets spendy. and one things that are indespensable are the manual, a vacume pump(in the craftsman catalog), timing light, a volt meter.

come on man ...dont be so harsh on the guy ....you can get a single turbo upgrade for under 6k ....just not with so much boost ...keep it a decent boost setting and you can survive , i ran 13 psi boost on 60-1 turbo with just the pettit ecu ,altough risky it can be done ..take a greddy t88 kit (pretty decent ) and be done with it

Wow, now i have heard it all. lets put a ecu in the car that is set up for twin turbos and run a single turbo on it. Lets just hope it doesnt blow. Not only that, but the tuning is so bad that you were better off running singles with the ecu. Now your talking about a t88 kit. HA. Obviously you are in a little more need of some information on these cars.

agreed....dude please stop talking

the reason you get a single is for big power. Nobody wants to get a single and run it at 13psi max and have it be risky. So then youll have the same power as the twins plus a lot of lag thats great

If you're dying to spend the money, pay the car off first if you have a loan. You'll be glad you did later and you'll save the interest cost. Mods are easier to afford with no car loan. Just because you have $6k laying around doesn't mean you have to spend it. When **** breaks on this car it's expensive. Thousand here, thousand there, thousand everywhere. Remember 1 mod on this car begets another, and another, and another

Here's some fun you can have with Excel with the Future Value function:

=FV(0.08/12,12*30,-300,-6000,0) = $512,722.21

8% compounded monthly over 30 yrs. $6000 initial savings added to by $300/month. 1/2 million dollars.

or

=FV(0.11/12,12*30,-300,-6000,0) = $1,001,604.51

11%, everything else the same. $1 million dollars. No need to win the lotto and mutual funds last year were back to making 20+%

Yeh, I know you may never live to see tomorrow. But the odds are you will and I don't want to be one of the ones working at McDonalds at 65

Take your time modding the car and save Course if you have deep pockets then go for it.

Feel free to tell me to FO but I like this simple math stuff

firs of all dude ,what kinda crap are you talking about i just dont see how a ecu setup to run a twin turbo will harm a car that has a single ,might not run as well but it wont blow up , why you ask , because i have done it ,it didnt break ,but maybe my 7 is from mars
personally i have never used the t88 ,i prefer making my own custom kit , that way i can size my turbo to my personal needs , and i believe 13 psi on a t88 is more power than 13 psi on a twin turbo setup ,or dont you know that , besides you said "NO WAY IN HELL", so i guess the t88 kit is probably in hell, ....get a grip freak

he doesnot have enough money for everything , so 13 max for time beeing should be enough and he will feel the difference, and it does make more power than the twins at 13psi if youde grow a brain you would know ....dude,
secondly a 60-1 at 13psi makes way more power than the twins plus it spools just as fast

Personally, you sound full of crap to me.....

It's a terrible idea to run a single turbo of any kind with the stock ecu, or even a chipped one. Just because you got LUCKY, doesn't mean you should be advising others to do it.

Also, I would lay money down that a well tuned 13 psi TT car would be faster than a T-88 at 13 psi....

but it can be done ,not just me cause i have seen it before , and i do not need you to believe a word i am saying cause i just simply do not care what you think
i know what i am doing and what i have done , i know what CAN be done and what CANT one thing i know for shure a single turbo kit for under 6k CAN be done and thrust me a well tuned single turbo at 13 psi is faster

Get the basic mods and put the extra in stock, as in stock market*. Take the money that the it makes to spend on further mods. That way, in the end, you still (might) have your $6,000. The way I would do this is go with a day trader.

I would also agree with the daily driver. Saves gas money, doesn't put mileage on the 7, and you'll never regret it when the 7 goes on it's period.

Just my suggestions

I think you should just do the reliability stuff and save the rest. You being 18 Im sure that theres something else that will take priority over moding your car. Im 20, I have had my FD for 3 years now, and while I do little things to my car I just keep it well maintained. In the 3 years I have never overheated or been left stranded somewhere due to the car, and I daily drive it. Trust me... it would be better for you. But it is your money so do whatever you see fit.

Buy another car! Best thing I ever did. That way you can mod the hell out of your FD and not worry about it. I couldn't imagine trying to have a highly modded FD as my only car...alll the time it is down due to the modding, not to mention the reliability issue.
