Angry I hate the guy that owned my car before me. need help!!

Okay now I have had so many issues with my car from day one I dont need to really get into that. The person that had the car before me did not know what he was doing. I have been taking everything apart to go Non-sequential and get rid of the emissions junk and the ac and probably everything else that I really dont need. While I was working on it today I noticed a pipe that was right under the ignition coils( I think thats what there called) Drivers side of the engine bay.I looks to be coming out of the short block directly. Can anyone tell me what this goes to. I have looking through the manual online all day and I cant figure it out. I took a farther shot to show were in the engine it is and then a more close look. Any help would be great thanks guys

It's the vent for the oil in the crank. I would plug it up since you got 2 on the filler neck.

dude i know exactly how you feel.

i thought i was safe buying a car with only 29,XXX miles...WRONG. everything went bad almost immediately: motor, turbos, clutch.

the previous owner really beat the **** out of my car, but at least kept the body clean. haha

I just look at the bright side now I know a lot more about how the car works now. I have become a way better mechanic because of this car then I ever knew I could be. Previous owners still suck lol.

I feel your pain, but being someone who's almost done fixing a car that was FUBARed by the previous owners, I can tell you there's nothing more satisfying than when you get the car to where you want it. It's a great feeling.

It has been discussed before that these cars are at least 13 years old. With the amount of heat they generate things are going to get rather crispy. I.E. electrical entities. Thoroughly researching this forum before buying should give you good indicators as to what to look for upon purchase. A crispy wiring harness is going to be common on cars w/ 70k+ miles which equals at least $500 off the bat. Glad to hear things are turning in your favor. Yes these cars will make you a better mechanic. Its favorable that no one within 100 miles of you has ever really torn into one. Good luck and your persistance will pay off. G

to let you know you aint alone with "previous owner was a retard" syndrome i will share that i found these things in my FD:

-the chain inside the oil pump was backwards
-he didnt put a gasket on the oilpan

but anyway just plug up that pipe you found and you should be good to go with that issue. also if you are gonna look into a harness then give ray crowe @ malloy mazda a call, hopefully he'll have somethin good for you. he can be reached here:

If I remember correctly, you have the center iron is from a 2nd gen which has the vent on the filler. You can cap it off so it doesn't leak

Are you the same guys who when you go to buy a car and the owner has every record, tells you everything that has ever been done to the car, and makes himself/herself available to answer any questions after you buy the car. . .say, "that's nice but I won't pay you a penny more because of all of that!"
Just curious. . .I've been on both sides of the "previous owner" issue.

I cant really say for sure honestly never had a chance to sell a car my first car the motor gave up on me. My second car my dad took back from me when I bought my third car. My third car got stolen. My fourth car is my FD and my 5th car is my DD civic. So I have never actually sold a car lol. I have a feeling though that I would let the person know about what is the deal with the car at least of what I know is the deal just because I have been screwed on 2 different occasions by people that didnt tell me the truth about the cars. I would not feel good lying to people about that stuff like that my reputation as a good seller and good guy is much more important to me than more money.

too add to this "previous owner was a retard" post...

traded a near perfect 93 FD Touring with 46k, Apexi Power intakes, Apexi Exhaust, Downpipe, PFC, S-AFC, S-AVC, Apexi Intercooler (the $2000 one), and an Alpine deck for my 04 RX-8 almost completely stock except for intakes and exhaust.

said engine was original

during rebuild, found tag on engine that said "Remanufactured in 2003" ...
so basically the engine was less than 4 years old and probably had about 7000 miles on it.

I couldn't get $14000 for my '8 on ebay. not a single bid. This kid was gonna try to sell it for $19000. what a retard

Im the same, bought my first FD3 i did my research before buying, my fd had 17k on the clock all seemed ok all test came back fine. then 2 days later the O-ring failure signs Pre owner had used a block weld fix . ive currently rebuilt the whole car under chassis, internal electric's all new etc now on the last bit the engine been planning for 6 month got loads to post. And if i ever see the pre owner im going to kill him no joke!! car was un-safe and really dangerous + i payed a stupid amount for it. and i bet that **** was laughing his head off when i bought it. **** up my RX7 experience. car Badass now tho.
