I guess its my turn...

finally old realiable let me down

tonight i was rolling from 35-40 against an evo 9 mr said he had a bit of mods and wasnt on stock turbo, but he wasnt tuned. we went i pulled fairly hard till the end of second, and for the first time in my 2.5 years of owning the car i missed the shift to third and grinded not a big deal but we went to do another pull and my car just didnt pull anymore, i stayed side by side for a little bit and than just got destroyed.

i could feel it wasnt pulling right that run so i just did a pull on the highway before we got off....primary took me to like .6 bar (im running .85) and the secondary dropped the car down to .23 bar....Popped the hood to feel for a loose coupler, i was feeling around a coupler and oil was all over the thing, like my hand was wet with it.

havent had a chance to look but i fear the worst, my poor twins have 140k on them original from the factory. i just had to vent guys this sucks so much, i knew some **** like this would happen just before i leave to college, pray for me its just a vacuum hose

I would put money on your twins being toast, that's a lot of mileage for original twins. My twins were toast at 63k miles according to Rich(Goodfellas)

You send them a good core. I think the BNR site details what they expect you to send.

EDIT: I just checked the site: I guess they want the Y-pipe too... ?

ah... when they say the core they mean the whole turbos? or turbos off and the big block in the center?

I'd think it EASIER for you to send the entire assembly. Maybe you'd save money by cutting shipping weight... but it seems unnecessary.

They need the Y pipe as well. Since the turbos will be slightly longer they will need to extend the Y pipe.

It's better that the turbos blow than your motor. Do you have 140K on the motor, too?

I checked today and I was so relieved to find a vacuum hose, somehow this sucker came off even with a zip tie on, must not have been tight.

I had so many hose failures after I did the vac hose job that normally i don't even think twice about it I just pop the hood and locate the problem in a few minutes, but this still worries me. The boost pattern was really erratic I have had this line pop off before and it was some different symptoms, and that much oil can't be healthly? The oil is whats got me worried the most I bought the car and the guy said rotorsports racing said the secondary was blowing a little oil.

This is one of the first times I've removed the piping since I installed the PFS intercooler, could these couplers just be kinda shitty and catching and pooling the small amount of oil blowing by? I grabbed under the coupler and there was wet small pools on my fingertips.

My twins are original 140k on them, motor was rebuilt at 120. I know my twins have more than served their time but I can't afford....or more like shouldnt..afford any new turbo set ups.

sounds like your having the secondary failing or on its way out... minor oil in the coupler is normal but when its alot then there are problems, turbos aren't that much you can find one with decent or low mileage on the F/S section for a decent price.
