I got my new engine, now what?
Okay, I got my block back.
It is all new parts, ribbed water jacket linings and mild street port.
Any hints for putting it all back together?
How to break it in? Or rather, what to break it in with.
I will need to pass smog soon (in CA ) so I'm putting most of the stock stuff back on. The only mods that are on there now are the ACT clutch and the M2 9.5lb flywheel, and a C's shortshifter.
Tranny: Redline MTL 90 ? how much?
Engine: Valvoline 20W50 ? how much?
Plugs: Stock for now (new, right?)
I have a PowerFC, midpipe, GReddy catback, Random Cat, TiAL BOV, ProfecA, 1200cc secondaries. Should I leave all this off?
Would it be better to break the engine in with the PowerFC or the stock ECU? The PowerFC would allow me to turn the boost down and monitor temps, but if the maps are more for a modified car then perhaps it would not be a good idea?

Leave your parts on and just switch before the smog. Use the PFC to break it in. Turn the boost down with the Profec and go easy. Use new plugs, 4.5 quarts of valvoline, and enough redline to fill the tranny up(not sure how much, but you can see). If the PFC maps are for your setup then don't worry. Just go easy on it.

Yes, it increases surface area and adds turbulance.
My PFC has the stock maps, which if I recall correctly are for 3 mods, like intake, downpipe, catback?

It looks like just the edges are stepped, correct?
What about the endplates, are they machined to match up with the cuts on the rotor housings?
I am probably looking at a rebuild sometime soon, would you mind sending the contact that did the work for you?
I would like to build my own engine, but I think that I want to have someone help with the porting, and possibly something like yours, the ribbed water jackets.
