I just got off of the phone with Ray over at Malloy Mazda (888 533 3400) and he said he can offer club members very good prices on shipping charges for motors. As I sure most are aware he deals in a high volume of engines shipped all over the country so can offer us very competitive pricing.
I called him about this after a fellow club member complained about being quoted $880 via fedex to ship an engine from CA to MD.....he told me he would be able to make that happen for a fraction of the price and to call him and tell him you're from the rx7club.
Hopefully this will save us all a lot of money in the future, as even though many don't need this service now you may need it sometime with the next couple of months/years

Uhm, not to take away from this post, but you don't need a special account to get a good shipping rate. Go to www.gorlc.com, click rate quote, enter the origin and destination zip, class 85 and weight (including pallet, shortblocks are 220lb palleted). You'll usually get a rate of $80-150.
UNfortunately R&L doesnt yet service the west coast, Ak or HI, but does the rest of the US. I believe they have plans to cover the continental US by 2007, however.
