Thats the way the airpump sounds when unmuffled. The stock airbox has a silencer in it, and the aftermarket systems have some way of silencing it.

Yes... I know what you are refering too!!! "A Dying GOOSE" from the air-pump. I think the HKS intakes come with a noise filter of some type.

I know this noise from when I had a RE Amemiya intake on my car. In the instructions it said to diconnect the air-pump. Which then made the car idle really rich and destroy a couple Random tech. catalitics. But when you disconnect the air pump the noise is gone. The RE
intake sounded really cool and mean especialy when the blow off valve released but it sucked in too much hot air.

I now have been running with the N-tech. With the N-tech heat sheid it helps block out hot air. And it muffells
the sound of the dying Goose air-pump by running long air pipes to the front of the cars connected to a small K and N filter. I think Nick at N-tech got this design from the Pettit kit. I think his kit is better though.

Overall... If you are building your own intake... I think you should spend the $$$ and get either the M2 or at least the N-tech intake.

You can try calling Rick @ Rotary performance for some air noise filters. I have heard Mazda used them on some older rx's to silence the air-pump. But good luck in getting one.

Hi... I thought the Pettit kit come with silencers? And the same kind of piping to the front small K and N filter?
You should not be getting the Dying Goose sounds...
