Feel free Rishie. If it wasn't for you and ARD my car wouldn't be looking so good

Nah, I did most of the work, she detailed and vaccuumed the interior, and helped with some of the buffing... and brought me my beer

well, you should know. isn't that what sean does for you? j/k

Bah! Those rims are sick as hell! I love em!

Looks like you got quite a bit of the rim lip sticking out past the tire. Maybe could have gone wider than 265? Or is that the optimal fitment for that rim?

well, we weren't sure if it would fit or not but after we got them we test fit with 275's and they fit as well. On my next rubber purchase, I'll probably go one up. there's a thread/sticky in the wheel/tire section with a bunch of info from ARDT2 (rishie) and BlackR1 on this issue.

Looks great, I could'nt believe what a difference the clay bar makes the first time I used it. Anyone know how often it could/should be done. I do it about once a year.

Is the clay bar the same as rubbing compound? The purpose is the bring dulling paint back into life correct? Lastly, what do you guys suggest to take off old (I mean old) sticker residue off my front bumber? ****! This is the last question. I promise! Have any of you ever used any sort of touch-up paint? If so, what brand and color code? I also have a VR almost identicle to bigred's and what to give her a "Jenny Jone's" make-over. Thanks in advance.

nope clabar is nothing like rubbing compound, it's a non-abrasive cleaner. here's a link to an article (don't worry about all the advertising for Their product they throw in there, all clay bars are the same). If you go to mazda with your car, they can give you the touch up paint. as far as the sticker goes, good luck whatever you do, first test what you're going to use on an unexposed part of your car.

http://www.properautocare.com/usclaybartor.html

"Some automotive manufacturers now cover vehicles with plastic coverings during rail transportation. Unfortunately, this plastic only covers 40% to 60% of the vehicle and many vehicles are still transported with no covers.

There is no wax, natural or synthetic, or any chemical treatment that can prevent or protect against this contamination. Compounding with an abrasive polish may remove this contamination but it can only be performed a few times before removing too much of the top, clear coat finish.

The final solution, a special clay bar, was developed in Japan nearly five years ago. This clay safely removes rail dust and industrial fallout by "pulling" it off the surface. It does not "cut" or perform any abrasive action normally associated with polishing or compounding.

When clay bars were brought to the United States several other usages were found for them. Clay bars were found to be effective for removing overspray, tree sap, acid rain & water spots and a variety of other surface contaminants.

Today, clay bars are routinely used by professional detailers and body shops as a simple, safe way to remove overspray and surface contaminants from painted surfaces, chrome and glass."

you can use it as often as you like, it's non abrasive, and doesn't harm/wear on your paint/clearcoat. It just depends on if you want to put that much effort into it. I'd say use clay bar as often as you wax/polish. Because you'll strip old wax off with dish soap before you apply a new coat right? so throw in the claybar step in to remove all impurities that can't be lifted by the dish soap.

You can also also really clean that muffler up with some Seapower Marine Polish and steel wool. Then finish off with some Mothers polish.

Thanks, it is Titanium, so it has always been kinda dull, doesn't quite have the same shine as polished SS. does that make a difference?
