i am desperate, got fuel, got spark but no start.

Here is the situation, i am trying to find the problem on someone else's car.

Thing is the car just got a manual conversion and the guy took the engine out to do that so i don't know what he did wrong. CAr was perfectly fine before he started tearing everything apart.

I checked and i do have spark on all 4 spark plugs, put brand new plugs in too.

made sure the engine wasn't flooded before i put back new spark plug.

I have a nice 40 PSI fuel pressure and i changed the fuel filter. It really seems like the injectors are firing because the exhaust is not installed and i can smell fuel coming out of the downpipe when i try to start it.

It has a power fc and it seems to receive a signal from the crank sensors because i am getting around 200 rpm when i start the car.

What else could it be, i am clueless. Car doesn't have coolant yet, would it change something? I just want to see it start and then i will shut it off. Thing is the guy left me the car and it misses some of the radiator hoses.

thanks for any help.

if you have fuel and spark all you need is compression. have you tried putting some oil in the plug holes and turning the engine over, then re installing the plugs? is the pfc set for the injectors correctly etc.. is it trying to start??

Does it start then die out? Check your fuel relay. Seems like the pump is priming then shutting off. Also double check your crank angle sensor plugs and make sure they are connected correctly.

no, my fuel pressure is really stable, i don't have a fuel pressure problem.

i have not tried to put oil in the spark plug hole, maybe i should try that.

the engine cranks but doesn't start at all.

thanks for the replies, anything else i should check?

im still new to fd's ...but if its cranking and not starting and you have fuel pressure...make sure you have enough juice in the battery....i had the same problem with other cars...battery had juice but not enough to crank the motor...
just an idea...
